A global data operation does not fail only when a platform becomes unavailable. It fails when pipelines run late, users do not receive the information they need, incidents build up, and technology evolution is held back by the pressure of daily support.
This was the context in which Aubay Portugal took responsibility for strengthening an internationally used Big Data operation. The service had to combine development, maintenance, support, and infrastructure management. The platform supported 16 active projects, processed approximately 2.5 TB of data per day, and required 24/7 support across three shifts. The objective was clear: guarantee continuity without slowing platform evolution.
Aubay Portugal structured a dedicated team of 40 professionals, divided between support, development, and infrastructure. To ensure that technical capacity translated into operational results, the model included a management layer made up of project direction, project management, support management, and commercial oversight.
This organisation connected technical execution with service monitoring, stakeholder communication, and continuous improvement.
The impact was measurable. Pipeline execution time was reduced by four hours, moving from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM. The operation went on to support 600 pipelines, 149 countries per day, 2,500 processed files, and 4,200 daily reports. First-response SLA fell from 40.24 hours to 4.95 hours, while resolution SLA was reduced from 42 hours to 2.07 hours. The team resolved an average of 6,000 tickets per year and achieved 90% customer and user satisfaction.
This project shows how Aubay Portugal creates Big Data teams that combine delivery capacity, 24/7 support, governance, and cloud platform expertise. The outcome is not just more resources within an operation. It is a team prepared to keep critical systems available, make data more accessible, and accelerate technology evolution.
