"Top Companies to Work for in Portugal"

Aubay Portugal is once again in the spotlight in the “Companies of Excellence to Work for in Portugal” dossier of Revista «human», through an interview with João Rodrigues, reinforcing its position as a benchmark company in the technology sector and in people management in Portugal.

People, culture, and sustainable growth

In the interview, João Rodrigues begins by summarizing the company’s journey in Portugal: “Over the years we have consolidated a relevant presence in the Portuguese market. This growth results from a relatively simple combination, but one that is demanding to execute: technical specialization, closeness to clients and a strong focus on our people and our culture.”

Present in Portugal since 2007 and part of an international group with more than 9,000 employees, Aubay has developed its activity in technology consulting, digital solutions development and support for the technological transformation of organizations, with a strong presence in sectors such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, energy and industry.

Throughout the interview, João Rodrigues stresses the importance of bringing together different perspectives and generations within the same organization: “The real challenge is not choosing between generations, it is being able to create environments where these different perspectives can coexist and reinforce each other, where initiatives such as our Academy, our Technology Communities and all the dynamics created by our People & Culture area become even more important.”

Operations and recruitment with global reach

Another key point is how Aubay has structured its operations and recruitment teams, with a robust Business Management organization dedicated to close support of clients and consultants, and a specialized recruitment team operating in multiple markets. As João Rodrigues notes, this investment makes it possible “to reach candidates from all over the world” and helps bring to Portugal the skilled workforce that the information systems sector needs.

Integrating technology into organizational culture

When it comes to technology, the Chief People Officer identifies a very clear challenge: “Implementing technology has become easy; the real challenge lies in integrating it into organizations’ processes and culture.” For Aubay, technology only has real impact when it is accompanied by continuous learning and by people’s ability “to learn, collaborate and make good decisions.”

The human side of technology

At the heart of the message is a belief that runs through the entire interview: “At the end of the day, it is people who make things happen, and I believe this is where Aubay can continue to create added value, bringing out the human side of technology.”

It is at this intersection between people and technology that Aubay Portugal intends to continue creating added value for clients, employees and for the broader ecosystem in which it operates.
