In an interview with Jornal de Negócios, Pedro Gouveia, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Aubay Portugal, highlighted the sectors that can gain the most from AI. “The sectors that benefit the most from artificial intelligence are those that handle large volumes of information, such as banking, insurance and telecommunications.” He explained that AI boosts efficiency by automating repetitive tasks, such as customer service or complaint handling, delivering “an immediate benefit” to companies.

Despite its advantages, Pedro Gouveia acknowledged that some businesses are still hesitant to adopt AI due to cost and vendor lock-in concerns. However, he reassured that “this challenge has been completely overcome with today’s models. Developing AI solutions now also means total independence for companies in managing them, at very low cost.”

In an interview with Jornal Económico, the Chief Technology Officer of Aubay Portugal, Pedro Gouveia, shared his perspectives on the future of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the segment “Who’s Who in ICT.”

Aubay Portugal plays a crucial role in preparing large companies for the ICT initiatives of 2025. According to Gouveia, “the main investments will continue to be in Cloud Computing and Cybersecurity”—areas that have already been prioritized this year—adding that “now they will also include AI and Machine Learning, which will move from exploratory topics with pilot projects to being priority areas by 2025.”

Digital transformation will be driven by the increased data generation from IoT devices, which will be integrated in real-time into operational systems, facilitated by the adoption of 5G. Gouveia emphasized that “the promise of value generated by more democratic access to Generative AI faces challenges that need to be addressed as a priority, particularly through the comprehensive training of internal resources in AI concepts.”

Data integration and the creation of a single source of truth are essential to maximize the value of generated knowledge. The CTO noted that “the value extracted from generated knowledge has increased exponentially, shifting from an important analytical support for decision-making to tangible gains in efficiency and productivity in daily processes.”

Sustainability and Energy Efficiency will continue to be strategic priorities for 2025, with tactical actions to consolidate ongoing initiatives. Pedro Gouveia also highlighted the importance of Blockchain, stating that “on the opposite side of the life cycle, organizations should explore how they can create value with this technology, even though it is still largely in the proof-of-concept phase.”

In an interview, João Miguel Rodrigues, chief people officer at Aubay Portugal, points out that “the last six years have been marked by exponential growth, which has allowed us to triple our size in Portugal”. From April 15th to 19th, Aubay celebrated Sustainable Mobility Week. During these days we encouraged our employees to adopt alternative and sustainable means of transport on their journey to work.

 Sustainable Mobility Week at Aubay

After the success of 2021, with more than 450 entrants and almost 3500 kilometres covered, the PULSE by Aubay Virtual Race is back with a new charity mission: to help the Johnson Academy. 
Each kilometre covered will be worth €1, until the goal set for this race of 1200km is reached, which will be converted into a donation for the institution.

The second edition of the PULSE by Aubay Virtual Race will take place on 17, 18 and 19 May, registration is free and open to the entire community, with Aubay employees, family and friends able to take part.
The modalities available are 5Km and 10Km and can be done in running or walking format, at the location that is most convenient for the participants, who must record their exercise in an app for this purpose.

It is also possible to buy a race T-shirt, with or without personalisation, at the time of registration.

2nd PULSE by Aubay Virtual Race

This recognition in terms of people management, which brings João Miguel Rodrigues together with seven other nominees from leading companies, is the result of choices made by the editorial board of Human Resources, based on the good people management practices, initiatives and policies of companies in Portugal, demonstrated and publicised over the last year.

The final choice is now up to the public, who will be able to vote until 17 May and choose their favourite for each of the 30 categories, to which the "Personality", "Career" and "Communication in People Management" awards will be added, for the presentation of 33 prizes on 4 June.

The Human Resources awards have a long tradition in Portugal and are organised by Human Resources magazine.

The largest Swiss space engineering company, and one of the world's leading suppliers of space products, has landed in Portugal and has Aubay as a strategic partner. 
Aubay as a strategic partner, with the common goal of establishing a technological and digital innovation centre in Lisbon.

Combining its know-how with the challenges proposed by this new partner, the Portuguese consultancy has created the conditions for the launch of Beyond Gravity in Portugal and will support the company with its experience in recruitment and people-centred management. 

With another half a hundred employees expected to be hired in Lisbon this year, mainly in the areas of engineering, IT and finance, the aim is to reach 200 jobs by 2025, continuing the company's growth strategy.

Aubay Portugal hosts Beyond Gravity in Lisbon

Since the beginning of 2023, Aubay Portugal has been offering free psychology consultations to its employees. Now, this support will be even more extensive, through a new partnership with Team 24, which will make it possible to guarantee continuous monitoring by qualified professionals and an immediate response to each person's needs, through a telephone line, chat and video consultations.

For the Chief People Officer of Aubay Portugal, João Miguel Rodrigues, this partnership aims to "draw people's attention to the importance of looking after our mental health and keeping an eye on the signs, making it clear that, at Aubay, we are not alone. "Connect to your wellbeing" is the statement we've created to bring this partnership to life, which in addition to providing simple, practical and quick access to psychological support, aims to give people more literacy on the subject."

Through its Health and Well-being Programme, PULSE by Aubay, the consultancy has been organising various initiatives, such as workshops and awareness talks dedicated not only to mental health, but also to many other dimensions of well-being. This topic will be addressed again next March with a workshop organised by Team 24 itself and a webinar on "how to deal with stress", as part of the Aubay Academy.

According to the document "Prosperity and Sustainability of Organisations - Report on the Cost of Stress and Psychological Health Problems at Work", drawn up by the Portuguese Psychologists' Association, absenteeism cost companies in Portugal 1.8 billion euros in 2022.

Technology consultancy Aubay has been selected by Euronext to join the index of the European project Euronext Tech Leaders, dedicated to the largest technology companies.

Aubay Portugal promotes mental health with new partnership with Team 24

Tech Leaders, launched in July 2022, has a core of more than 100 European companies that stand out in their sectors, with a minimum capital of 300 million euros.

Being part of the Tech Leaders segment increases the consultancy's visibility among international investors and rewards its growth trajectory, with an upward trend that began 25 years ago.
