Aubay Portugal was included in Human Magazine's “Companies of Excellence to work for in Portugal” dossier, which mentions “people as the greatest and most valuable asset”.

In an interview, João Miguel Rodrigues, chief people officer at Aubay Portugal, points out that “the last six years have been marked by exponential growth, which has allowed us to triple our size in Portugal”. He adds: “In this period, Aubay has become one of the largest IT [information technology] service providers in Portugal, making it even more challenging to maintain our family culture, of total proximity, in which each person and their well-being really matter.”

As a service company, Aubay's people are “its greatest and most valuable asset”, he points out. “To invest in, disseminate and defend our culture is to invest directly in our business, trusting that the way we treat and care for people is felt in the way the service is provided to the client, creating lasting relationships based on pillars such as respect, openness, availability, excellence and quality of response,” he says: "Our mission is to be active agents in the process of digital transformation in Portugal and to add value to our clients through the know-how of our people, treating everyone with proximity and concern, inspiring other companies to achieve results by managing their people in a humane and innovative way. " What's more: “We believe that Aubay makes a difference in the market because of the human and innovative way it treats its people, and this is evident in all the consultations we do with our stakeholders, usually highlighting the positive, fun, welcoming and family atmosphere in the company and the way all people are treated, with respect, empathy, gratitude and maximum openness and transparency.”

Aubay's culture was born and grew with the company. In 2018, the People & Culture area was created, increasing the focus and investment in the strategic management of people and the development of the culture and brand in Portugal, “making the culture more visible and turning Aubay Portugal into a benchmark employer brand”, says João Miguel Rodrigues. And he points out: “The size of the company, the flexibility adopted and the generational differences make it increasingly challenging to maintain this DNA, because any initiative that we want to reach everyone quickly becomes something huge and difficult to personalize. We believe we're still on the right track and providing a good experience for our people, but we're always aware that one size doesn't fit all and everything that entails."

Over the last few years, the company has implemented numerous initiatives aimed at attracting, motivating, developing and retaining talent. Here are a few examples: a program dedicated to health and well-being (PULSE by Aubay); value-added partnerships such as Team 24 (mental health services platform) and Vip Disctrict (benefits and engagement platform); corporate events, some regular, which bring the whole company together, others aimed at bringing team members closer together (e.g. team buildings), others dedicated to on-boarding foreign employees (walking tours), among many others; commitment to disruptive communication (podcast, newsletter); programs to increase proximity to candidates (AubayConnect, AubayFuture, AubayAlumni); practices and benefits aimed at flexibility and work-life balance (extra days off linked to seniority, smartworking); parenting (birth kit, school support); training academy with multiple training products, such as weekly webinars, an e-learning platform, mentoring, events, language classes, among others.
