The Top Employer certification is awarded by the Top Employers Institute, an independent organisation with over three decades’ experience in assessing human resources policies and practices on a global scale. Being a Top Employer means meeting exacting standards in the way an organisation structures its people strategy, working environment, talent attraction and onboarding, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and the wellbeing of its teams.
This recognition is the result of a rigorous assessment process, based on the HR Best Practices Survey, which analyses six key areas of human resources management: People Strategy, Working Environment, Talent Attraction, Learning and Development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Well-being and Sustainability. In 2026, the Top Employers Institute certified nearly 2,500 organisations across 131 countries and regions, recognising companies that stand out for the consistency and quality of their people policies; in Portugal, 44 companies feature on this list, including Aubay Portugal.
